 “Ålesund could be the backdrop for a Nordic fairytale – with a modern plot twist”, according to National Geographic.The town of Ålesund has a beautiful setting across several islands stretching out into the Atlantic Ocean, and is known for its architecture in Art Nouveau style, since it was rebuilt in 1904 after a devastating fire.

Norway's southernmost still-functioning traditional fishing village with a permanent population of about 20-25. This small island community has small summer café, several places to stay and two pottery workshops. The Ona lighthouse (1867) is painted red, 15 metres tall and stands on Onakalven, the highest point on the island.

 Bergen has given a warm welcome to its visitors for more than 900 years. Bryggen has become a symbol of our cultural heritage and has gained a place on UNESCO's World Heritage List. The old Hanseatic wharf is architecturally unique and is perhaps one of the most familiar image in all of Norway.

 Norwegian National Costumes are suits/dresses special and unique for each district or area of Norway. In Norway, they are also called nasjonaldrakt. There are a lot variations in the old tradition of Norway's bunader. Even some small villages and towns have their own unique nasjonaldrakt/festbunad (suit), especially for ladies, but for men, boys and girls, as well.  Norwegians are patriotic, and on 17th of May, it seems that everybody bring out their Norwegian flag to show their love and honor to their country. They are very proud of being Norwegian. And of course, if a Norwegian owns a nasjonaldrakt, he will wear it on Syttende Mai.

Geiranger is a small tourist village in Sunnmøre region of Møre og Romsdal county in the western part of Norway. The nearest city is Ålesund. Geiranger is home to some of the most spectacular scenery in the world, and has been named the best travel destination in Scandinavia by Lonely Planet. Since 2005, the Geirangerfjord area has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Seven Sisters waterfall is located just west of Geiranger.Norwegian County Road 63 passes through the village. Geiranger Church is the main church for the village and surrounding area. Geiranger is under constant threat from the mountain Åkerneset which could erode into the fjord. A collapse could cause a tsunami that could destroy downtown Geiranger. This third biggest cruise ship port in Norway receives 140 to 180 ships during the four-month tourist season. The Laerdal road tunnel is the world’s longest road tunnel at 24.5 km (15 miles)   You can only buy alcohol from stores called Vinmonopolet. There are only one or two in each city, and none in the countryside towns. Norway also has the world’s deepest underwater tunnel at 287 meters deep. Norway is one of the wealthiest countries in the world. It is also the most peaceful country, according to the Global Peace Index.
