This is the second postcard postcard I've got from my friend from Ukraine. It literally made my day. To get a handwritten postcard is so much more pleasant than an ordinary message in Facebook. I'm very thankfull to her.

The Hain, the main ceremony of the Selk'nam, was celebrated for last time in XX century. It was a rite of initiation for boys and an educative experience based on the belief that in the old days there was a predominance of women. The ceremony of the Klóketen or Hain is the widespread aspect of the cultural life, corresponding to the ritual of initiation of the young men in the tribes from a common territory. Murmansk, Russia

Murmansk is the largest city in the world located above the Arctic Circle. Murmansk sea port is one of the largest ice-free ports in Russia. It is the port of registration of the barque “Sedov”, the largest sailing vessel in the world. All Russian nuclear icebreakers are also registered in this sea port. The port is the basis of the economy of Murmansk. The Northern Sea Route starts here.

Leaning Tower of Pisa

Humans make mistakes, after all, no human is perfect. One mistake made in the 11th century resulted in a 14,500 ton leaning tower. This miscalculation would later become a symbol of civic pride, but tell that to the man who designed it! The learning tower of Pisa, known as Torre Pendente di Pisa in Italian, is different than most medieval architecture. This particular section won't cover the highly advanced construction techniques that were used, it is important to mention how this tower's design is significant. The Leaning Tower is the third oldest building on Pisa's Piazza del Duomo (cathedral square), the Cathedral and Baptistry were first. Utilizing many columns and archs, this tower represents an advanced understanding of weight and load characteristics, showing the Italian architectures' knowledge.
